Functional LEGO Wheelchair

This creation is simply awesome, I never figured that Lego technic frame can do this... A human real scale functional vehicle...

In Burf's words:

"Currently still a prototype, the LEGO Wheelchair can move a 90kg person.

It uses 6 NXT's to drive 12 NXT motors (2 per NXT for maximum power output) which are connected to 12 Rotacaster multi-directional wheels. Using these wheels will later allow for side to side movement(strafing).

There is a master NXT which controls the 6 NXT via turning on/off touch sensors. The joystick is connected to 4 touch sensors to determine direction (forward, backwards, turn left, turn right).
The master NXT then turns 2 motors (left / right side) different directions which turn on / off 12 touch sensors (2 per NXT for backwards / forwards)."

New YT channel. Old Unimog

To inaugurate my new YT channel where i will upload only my LEGO creations (not like my previous channel where I mix everything..) I've edited my Unimog 401 trial truck videos, long time waiting inside of my laptop.

Don't panic about the eartquakes during the filming of the video...  and enjoy!

The MULTIPLEX GBC module

Sqiddster presents this GBC "module" that is a complete contraption itself!! Brilliant all around.

LEGO GBC

"Features a unique color sorter, various lifts and ramps, an elevator, and a fully functional Ball Array."

Really nice start on GBC modules, I can't figure what will come from this builder in the future!!

8837 REMAKE of the Pneumatic Excavator

There's a remake contest at HispaLUG, the challenge is to rebuild in actual stile a LEGO set released before the year 2000 and of course my entry is a technic set, concretely the 8837 Pneumatic Excavator.

This is the original:

Lego Pneumatic Excavator

And this is my remake, keeping the pneumatic functions, and the double function of the HOG, for steering and for upper excavator body rotation, like all 90's technic set rebuild the main challenge is to "translate" the proportions of technic bricks (6:5) to liftarm (1:1) another detail you will notice is the colour change, from red to orange in order to give an actual look to the model.

The result is a not very elaborated but very playable excavator ( it took me less than tree hours to build)

SFRIP's Mobile Crane and Crane Truck

It's not usual to see that kind of technic creations that mix full of functions technic core, relatively small scale and a Lego "system" exterior, this is because it's not easy to build with that construction requirements.

SFRIP has done it with honours with this two models seen in the past Catbrick 2012

The images are self-explaining but note the large amount of functions, the scale and the aesthetics that this models have:

Mobile crane

Crane truck

There's some more images at SFRIP's photostream on Flickr and other several interesting creations.
